But don't worry — I would never recommend something I don't totally love or use myself!

Hey Babes!

If you know me, you know I LOVE sparkle! Nothing I do is just plain-Jane and I'm always trying to make things a little extra, even with my clothing. My grandmother used to design dresses in the '80s and '90s, so you can say that sparkle AND design is in my blood. She recently gave me bags and bags of some SPARKLY and beaded appliques, and I just KNEW I needed to use some to create something beautiful with them. I found this amazing dress simple dress that I had on hand and I decided, along with Aleene's Fabric Fusion, that I was going to turn it into something a little "extra"!

The process of dress design is always fun. My favorite part is picking which embellishments to use, and with the bags of embellishments my grandmother gifted me I had a hard time deciding exactly which ones to use. But I ultimately decided on these beautiful pearl and crystal flower embellishments.

What is Fabric Fusion?

Let’s be honest, we’ve all seen that gold bottle of fabric glue that our mothers and grandmothers had in their crafting supplies. It’s a great all purpose craft glue, but for me it always left me wanting something more. Step in fabric fusion glue.

Fabric fusion glue is a permanent adhesive to use on your clothes when you are not into sewing and never want to even pick up a needle and thread. This fabric fusion glue is amazing because it is non-toxic (you know I am all about the non-toxic life for myself and my family), machine washable, and it’s a permanent bond between fabrics and embellishments!

So now that I have thoroughly convinced you that you need Aleene's Fabric Fusion Glue in your life it's time to get creating.

What ya need:

How I made the embellished dress:

Make sure your garment of choice is pre-washed WITHOUT fabric softener.

After you have your garment washed and dried you are going to get your patches or appliques and spread an even layer of fabric fusion glue on the back of them. If you have appliques that have pointed areas you want to focus on those areas.

Use some mild pressure and press your appliques onto your garment. If you feel like you need a little extra help with them sticking to the fabric you can use tape or pins.

Now, set your garment with your appliques aside to dry and with in 24 hours you will be ready to wash and wear your beautiful piece of art that just happens to be a piece of clothing!
