And I'm about to tell you all about it, so buckle up.
I have been a hard-core lover of Brite Tone for YEARS for epoxy-free tumblers. It has been my go to for everything. But when Crystalac contacted me to tell me they had finally released Grande Finale, I was thrilled. There are so many positives to it that it's going to be what I use from now on.
About Grande Finale
Grande Finale was released a couple of weeks ago, and I have been using it ever since. I love Crystalac and have been a lover of Brite Tone since I started doing epoxy free tumblers. But let me tell you — this new top coat for tumblers is THE BOMB. Here are all the things to love about Grande Finale.
Fast Drying - 30 min to 1 hour dry to touch, and you can recoat in just 2 hours
Non-Toxic Waterbased, epoxy free formula (obvi!)
Non dripping formula - Higher Viscosity but easy to spread (wahoo!)
Non-Yellowing - Milky white in its wet state but absolutely CrystaLac Clear when dry (ummm, yesss! No more yellowish tint to lighter color tumblers)
Quicker turnaround time. Grande finale will harden very quickly so you can ship out sooner
Superior water, chemical and abrasion resistance
Early water resistance
Low odor and super low V.O.C. (safety first!)
Excellent adhesion and bonding to all kinds of surfaces
UV stable
Both hard and flexible at the same time
Self-Levels and no bubbles. VERY easy to apply!
Crystalac says that, "Grande' Finale is a one-of-a-kind, unique TopCoat (Acrylothane) that is based on the latest technology in the coatings industry. This is a custom, proprietary blend of ingredients not found in any other products available in the market. It is made up of several polymers that are chemically engineered and crosslinked together to become one. The benefit of chemically grafting is you get the best qualities of each of the polymers plus some added qualities that improve the coating as a whole."
Why I love Grande Finale as my new favorite top coat for tumblers
Reading all the things above about Grande Finale you can see why its my new favorite top coat for tumblers.
The biggest thing? Super fast drying time without an amber hue when dry. With Brite Tone, the lighter color tumblers and glitter would sometimes get this yellowish tint to it. That doesn't happen with Grande Finale.
In addition to the 2 hour dry time compared to Brite Tone's 4 hour dry time, Grande Finale has a thick (almost like melted butta') milky white appearance which makes it super easy to apply. I really, really like being able to see exactly where I am putting the top coat and how much. The milky white color helps with that.
Grande Finale is definitely my top coat of choice.
